Avalara’s AvaTax Web Service Receives .NET Connected Certification From Microsoft.

Connected Sales Tax Calculation and Reporting Technology Adaptive to Customers’ Requirements

Bainbridge Island, Washington – April 20, 2005.  Avalara’s AvaTax service has been awarded Microsoft (MSFT) Corporation’s.NET Connected, according to Avalara’s CEO, Jared Vogt. “The AvaTax Web service is key to Avalara’s AvaTax ST™ solution, which automates our clients’ sales tax compliance function,” Vogt said.  “This service includes on-demand address validation, tax jurisdiction research and rate calculation, reporting and returns, and has been created specifically for use by small and medium businesses.”

AvaTax ST is integrated to the client’s accounting software package, or e-commerce engine.   This on-demand web service is integrated with some of the SMB market’s most widely-used accounting systems, including Microsoft’s Great Plains, Navision®, and Small Business Financials; Best Software’s ACCPAC Advantage Series™,  MAS 90® and MAS 200®; and Scala, among others “The AvaTax Web service is highly versatile, and can be incorporated into any e-commerce, custom or third-party accounting system for sales tax calculation, reporting and returns,” according to Ranjit Mulgaonkar, Avalara’s VP of Business Development and Product Management.  “The .NET Connected certification signifies our commitment to industry standards for interoperability.”
