Avalara Announces Webinars to Help Washington Businesses Manage Upcoming Sales Tax Changes
Sessions will focus on what Washington businesses need to know in order to follow the new sales tax law set to go into effect July 1
Bainbridge Island, WA - June 3, 2008 - Avalara (www.avalara.com), the leading provider of sales, use and VAT tax automation solutions for small and mid-sized businesses, today announced that it will host several free webinars focused on the new Washington sales tax legislation, which will become law July 1.
The new destination- based sales tax law, which requires businesses to collect sales tax based on the rate at the location where merchandise is shipped or delivered to, is expected to affect more than 20 percent of all Washington businesses - many of which have not yet made preparations to manage the change.
Avalara, one of only three Certified Service Providers (CSP), certified by the Streamlined Sales Tax (SST) Governing Board, and the only CSP located in Washington State, will hold the following informational webinars prior to the July 1 change:
Each webinar will focus on why the state is changing to destination-based sales tax, how the changes will affect local businesses, solutions available to businesses that have yet to make arrangements to comply with the new law, and how sales tax automation can help businesses become and stay compliant in a state of change.
