Georgia to vote on Transportation Sales Tax

Georgia's Governor Nathan Deal has called the state legislature into a special session to deal with redistricting proposals -- a topic that will be sure to be of interest to individual legislators. But that's not the only issue they may deal with this summer:

Another topic is the date of next year’s referendum on a 1-percent sales tax for transportation projects. Deal wants to change it from the summer primary to the November general election to increase voter participation. —Augusta Chronicle

What do you think? Does the scheduled date for the transportation sales tax referendum affect the likelihood of it passing?

Sales tax rates, rules, and regulations change frequently. Although we hope you'll find this information helpful, this blog is for informational purposes only and does not provide legal or tax advice.
