Kansas: Sales Tax Filing Grace for Tornado Victims

In the wake of the tornado that swept Harveyville, Kansas, the Kansas Department of Revenue announced that it will waive late sales tax filing fees for those businesses "affected by the storms."

According to KCTV5, when the tornado swept through Harveyville last Tuesday night, it "leveled houses all over town." Those Harveyville businesses currently rebuilding and restoring their facilities must still file sales tax returns, however, the Department of Revenue, "will waive any filing fees they incur if they file those taxes late." The Department has also made provisions for those who lost copies of their tax returns. They can call 785-368-8222, and "the department will provide a copy for free."
