Amazon to Collect Sales Tax in Nevada

Nevada Governor Brian Sandoval announced today that Nevada and Amazon have reached an agreement concerning sales tax collection and legislation, according to The Statesman Journal. 

Amazon has agreed to begin collecting and remitting sales tax in the state of Nevada as of January 1, 2014, ". . . or as of the effective day of federal legislation, whichever is earlier."

In addition, Governor Sandoval stated that both Nevada and Amazon will work for the enactment of federal legislation that, in Sandoval's words, ". . . grants states the right to require collection by all sellers . . . ."
