Washington Local Sales Tax Rate Changes July, 2012


The Washington Department of Revenue posted a notice on their website signaling several city sales tax rate changes that will go into effect July 1, 2012: 

  • Tax within the City of Ferndale will increase from .020% to .o22%. Revenue from the increase " . . . will be used for transportation services."
  • Tax within the City of Tacoma will increase from .029% to .030%. Revenue from the increase " . . . will be used for chemical dependency or mental health services."
  • Tax within the City of Walla Walla will increase from .022% to .024%. Revenue from the increase " . . . will be used for transportation services."
  • Tax within the City of Wenatchee will increase from .016% to .018%. Revenue from the increase " . . . will be used for the Public Facilities District."
