Ascension Parish Louisiana Sees Sales Tax Increases

Two rate changes in the Ascension Parish of Louisiana have been reported:

City of Donaldson – increase .5% (local tax rate now equal to 5%)

Tanger Mall Development District was created in the city limits of Gonzales, Louisiana. Only a portion of Tanger Mall is affected. The District is imposing a 1% sales and use tax for taxable transactions within its boundaries. Tax rate within this district will be 5.5%.

Stores located within the Tanger Mall Development District and vendors delivering within the District are responsible for collecting the new sales tax.

These rate increases will become effective July 1, 2012.
