Mississippi Bees Make Sales Tax Exempt Products

Legal Coterie reports that “The Mississippi Attorney General has issued an opinion that the sales of bees and bee products by bee producers, such as honey in its original state, are exempt from sales tax under Miss. Code Ann. § 27-65-103(b) as farm, grove, or garden products sold in its original and unprocessed state.”

The products must be “…sold in the original state or condition of preparation for sale before such products are subjected to any other process within a class of business or sold by a producer through an established store….”
