Rhode Island Tourism Tax Repeal Update


The Rhode Island Division of Taxation issued a notice with important details concerning the repeal of sales tax on package tours and sightseeing services. 

Rhode Island sales tax on package tours and sightseeing services will no longer apply starting July 1, 2012.

The notice states that "[t]hose who have been collecting the tax must still file a sales and use tax return for the period ended June 30, 2012, and remit the applicable tax; return and payment are due on or before July 20, 2012."
