Wyoming Sales Tax Rate Changes October 2012

  • Jul 11, 2012 | Susan McLain

According to the latest Wyoming Taxing Issues newsletter put out by the Wyoming Department of Revenue there will be a few rate changes effective October 1, 2012.

  • Platte County will decrease their sales tax rate from 6% to 5%.
  • The City of Guernsey will have a combined sales/use and lodging tax rate of 7%.

The Department reminds taxpayers to visit the Department website at http://revenue.state.wy.us and select the Publications tab and scroll to “Sales and Use Tax Rates” to keep up with rate changes.

In addition to keeping up with the current rates, the Department reminds vendors of the Vendor Compensation Credit. Vendors are eligible to keep up to 1.95% of reported tax due if the return is postmarked by the 15th of the month the tax is due.
