Beaufort County South Carolina Tax Rate Change

Effective October 1, 2012, Beaufort County, South Carolina “…will no longer impose its 1% Transportation Tax…. The 1% Transportation Tax imposed in Beaufort County expires at the end of the day on September 30, 2012. Effective the next day on October 1, 2012, Beaufort County will no longer impose a local sales and use tax and will only impose the state sales and use tax.”
