California Sales Tax Rate Changes October 2012

Several California local sales tax rate changes take effect October 1, 2012. 

  • City of Hercules (Contra Costa County) – increase from 8.25% to 8.75%.
  • City of Pittsburg (Contra Costa County) – increase from 8.25% to 8.75%.
  • City of San Pablo (Contra Costa County) – increase from 8.25% to 8.75%.
  • City of Ridgecrest (Kern County) – increase from 7.25% to 8.00%.
  • City of Greenfield (Monterey County) – increase from 7.25% to 8.25%.
  • City of Soledad (Monterey County) – increase from 7.25% to 8.25%.
  • City of Santa Maria (Santa Barbara County) – increase from 7.75% to 8.00%.
  • City of Sonoma (Sonoma County) – increase from 8.00% to 8.50%.

Solano County extended their 0.125% sales tax that supports local libraries through September 30, 2030.

Also, Stanislaus County extended their 0.125% sales tax that supports local libraries  through June 30, 2018.
