Rhode Island Updated Taxability Matrix

  • Aug 3, 2012 | Susan McLain

Rhode Island submitted their updated taxability matrix and certificate of compliance to the Streamlined Sales Tax organization.

In the recertification letter, Rhode Island noted that their new cap and threshold on clothing places them not in “…compliance with Section 323 and the definition of essential clothing....” Therefore, they have noted that “…the State of Rhode Island remains in compliance with the Agreement through September 30, 2012.”

“Rhode Island will be participating in and working with the SLAC Workgroup on essential clothing and is hopeful that the Agreement will be amended so that Rhode Island remains in compliance.”
