Silas Alabama Filing Change

Alabama's Department of Revenue will soon collect its last taxes for the Town of Silas, in the southwest part of the state.

On September 20, 2012, the Alabama DOR announced that, per Resolution No. R-2012-007, the Town of Silas is "discontinuing the services rendered by the Alabama Department of Revenue in the administration and collection of the sales/use taxes and any other additional taxes for the Town of Silas."

The resolution takes effect October 1, 2012. As a result, the "last Town of Silas sales tax return filed with the Alabama Department of Revenue is for the tax period ending September 30, 2012." Those taxes are due on or before October 22, 2012.

Taxpayers are requested to remit sales taxes for the Town of Silas for the tax period ending October 31, 2012, (due on or before November 20, 2012) to the following address:

Town of Silas

P.O. Box 830725
