New York Considers Change to Motor Fuel Tax Rates


The New York Department of Taxation and Finance has proposed a change to the sales tax component and the composite rate per gallon on motor fuel and diesel motor fuel. If approved, the rate change will be adopted for the period January 1, 2013, through March 1, 2013.

This proposed change is listed on the state's action pending index, dated November 28, 2012. The action pending index is "a list of all proposed rules which are currently being considered for adoption." The motor fuel and diesel motor fuel rates per gallon face changes every quarter.
