Ohio Extends Filing Deadline for Victims of Sandy
- Nov 14, 2012 | Gail Cole
The Ohio Department of Taxation Commercial Activity Tax (CAT) has announced that the third quarter filing deadline will be extended for businesses in New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut adversely affected by Hurricane Sandy. The extension allows businesses until December 28, 2012, to file these returns and make payments.
In order to qualify for the extension, businesses must be located in a county that the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has declared eligible for disaster relief.
Affected businesses in need of an extension are advised to contact the CAT division at 888-722-8829. If deemed eligible, they will not be charged interest, late-payment, or late-filing penalties.
Below is a list of counties that FEMA has declared eligible for disaster relief because of Hurricane Sandy:
New Haven County
Mashantucket Pequot Indian Reservation
Cape May County
New York County
