Oklahoma: Spouses of 100% Disabled Veterans Eligible for Sales Tax Exemption

Surviving Spouses of 100% Disabled Veterans Eligible for Sales Tax Exemption in Oklahoma.

Thanks to Oklahoma Senate Bill 46, the sales tax exemption for 100% disabled veterans has been expanded to include sales to the surviving spouse of a deceased qualifying veteran. Senate Bill 46 was approved by Governor Fallin (R) in May 2012.

The fine print? Surviving spouses of deceased qualifying veterans are eligible for the sales tax exemption only so long as they do not remarry.

"Sales qualifying for exemption [for spouses] are limited to $1000 per year."
