Sales Tax Rate Increase for Carbon Hill, Alabama


 New Rate for Carbon Hill, Alabama.

Effective April 1, 2013, there will be a one percent (1%) sales tax rate increase in Carbon Hill, Alabama.

The decision to raise the rate of sales tax was made by the Carbon Hill City Council early last week. The additional tax "is expected to increase the city's revenue by $125,000 per year." According to Pee Wee Richardson, Carbon Hill Mayor, "It will be a good thing."

Once the new rate takes effect, total rate of sales tax in Carbon Hill will be 9%.

The April 1, 2013 date was confirmed by phone.
