Alabama 2013 Back-to-School Sales Tax Holiday


 During Alabama's Back-to-School Sales Tax Holiday, August 2-4, 2013, many school supplies are exempt from sales tax.

Update, 7.22.13: The Alabama DOR continually updates the list of localities participating in the 2013 Back-to-School Sales Tax Holiday. The most up-to-date list is available at the Alabama Department of Revenue.

The Department of Revenue has released a list of localities that will and will not be participating in this year's Back-to-School Sales Tax Holiday, August 2-4.

The following localities have decided to participate in the 2013 sales tax holiday and in all future Back-to-School sales tax holidays:

  • Susan Moore (9691).

Alabama cities and counties may exempt all items covered by Sales Tax Holiday Rule 810-6-3-.65, or only some items.

While this is the most current list of participating localities, it is not a definitive list. Alabama localities may declare their intention to participate, or not, until 30 days prior to the start of the holiday. As of this writing, dozens of localities have not yet made their intentions known.
