More Alabama Back-to-School Holiday Participants


 The list of Alabama localities participating in the 2013 Back-to-School Sales Tax Holiday has been updated.

The Alabama Department of Revenue has updated the list of localities that will participate, or not participate, in the August 2013 Back-to-School Sales Tax Holiday.

Participating localities (2013 only):

  • Centreville (9681);
  • Childersburg (9627);
  • Coker (9760);
  • Florala (9624);
  • Grove Hill (9673);
  • Jacksonville (9376);
  • Killen (9396);
  • Lamar County (7038);
  • Locust Fork (9726);
  • Magnolia Springs (9773);
  • Newton (9325);
  • Pelham (9452);
  • Prattville (9365);
  • Red Level (9661);
  • Repton (9569);
  • Somerville (9728);
  • Valley (9665); and
  • Winfield (9458), applies only to the regular 2.2% sales and use tax rate, not the additional 1.8% promised for education.

Participating localities (2013 and future years):

  • Ariton (9602); and
  • Chelsea (9158).

Not participating:

  • Kinston (9366);
  • Malvern (9656);
  • Taylor (9736); and
  • Thomaston (9660).
