Washington State Sales Tax Rate Changes, July 2013


 Two new Transportation Benefit Local Tax Districts for Washington State.

The Department of Revenue has announced two new local sales taxes. They will both take effect July 1, 2013, and will be in addition to the state sales tax rate of 0.65 (6.5%).

On the mouth of the Chehalis River, the City of Aberdeen will create a new Transportation Benefit District (TBD), with a sales tax rate of 0.0203 (2.03%). The total sales tax rate for the Aberdeen TBD (location code 1401) will be 0.0853 (8.53%).

Near Camano Island, the City of Stanwood will also create a new Transportation Benefit District (TBD), with a sales tax rate of 0.023 (2.3%). The total sales tax rate for the Stanwood TBD (location code 3116) will be 0.088 (8.8%).
