Arizona Tax Rate Changes, July 2013

 There will be several tax rate changes in Kingman and Tombstone Arizona, July 2013.

On June 1 of this year, the people of Arizona awoke to a reduced state transaction privilege tax rate of 5.6%--thanks to the expiration of a temporary 1% transaction privilege tax that had been in place since 2010.

On July 1, 2013, the Town of Kingman will see a number of tax rate changes:

Privilege Tax 000 up 0.5% 2.5%
Use Tax 002 up 0.5% 2.5%
Restaurant/Bar 011 down 1% 1%
Hotel/Motel 003 no change 4%

Kingman will also add two new taxes, effective July 1, 2013:

  • Metalliferous Mining (business class 005), 0.10%; and
  • Rental of Real Property (business class 013), 2.0%.

In addition, the transaction privilege tax in the City of Tombstone, effective July 1, 2013, will increase 1% to 3.5%.
