August: Month of Sales Tax Holidays
- Jul 26, 2013 | Gail Cole

It's August, and that means one thing: sales tax holidays.
State department of revenue websites have been busy reminding residents about upcoming sales tax holidays. Most of them take place during the first two weekends in August.
For business owners, that means it's time to prepare to not collect sales tax as usual.
For shoppers, that means it's time to put away sunscreen, sunhats and surfboards. You won't need them. You'll be too busy shopping to swim, surf or sunbathe.
