Utah's Local Sales Tax Rate Changes, October 2013

The State Tax Commission has announced a number of local sales tax rate changes, effective October 1, 2013.
Rate increase
The city of Brian Head in Iron County will increase the resort communities tax rate to 1.1%. The combined sales and use tax rate will be 7.95%.
The city of Kanab in Kane County will increase its municipal energy sales and use tax by 3%. The new rate will be 6%.
New tax
Tropic in Garfield County will impose a new municipal energy sales and use tax of 6% and a new municipal telecommunications sales and use tax of 3.5%.
Cedar City in Iron County will impose a new municipal transient room tax of 1%. The total transient room tax rate will be 5.25%.
Brian Head in Iron County will impose a new municipal transient room tax of 1%. The total transient room tax rate will be 5.25%.
