Louisiana: A Good Time to Buy a Gun
- Sep 4, 2013 | Gail Cole

September 6-8, 2013, is going to be a good time to hunt for bargains in Louisiana. Fall hunting season kicks off with a Second Amendment Sales Tax Holiday, when hunting enthusiasts--and other people--will be able to purchase camouflage clothing, hunting knives, and even guns tax-free.
Exempt items include archery bows, arrows, quivers and shafts (for hunters who like a challenge), rifle scopes (for hunters who like an advantage) and off-road vehicles intended primarily for hunting (for hunters who don't like to walk).
Additional information is available on the Louisiana Department of Revenue.
Sales tax holidays are great for shoppers, but they can create extra work for businesses. Automating sales tax makes sales tax holidays simple to manage.
Happy hunting.
