California Updates Tax Delinquent List
- Oct 18, 2013 | Gail Cole

The State Board of Equalization has updated its list of Top 500 Sales and Use Tax Delinquencies in California. The last list was published in June.
It's no honor to make the list. In fact, it's the reverse. California hopes that by publicizing the list of top delinquent taxpayers, they will be shamed into paying what they owe. It seems to work; since the inception of The List of Shame, more than 100 delinquent taxpayers have coughed up over $9 million of taxes owed.
After all, if you had the choice between doing business with a law-abiding citizen or doing business with what New York Governor Cuomo calls a "scofflaw," what would you choose?
