Kansas Local Transient Guest Tax Rates

  • Oct 17, 2013 | Gail Cole

Not. No local transient guest tax rate changes in Kansas in Q4.

Departments of Revenue generally list tax rate changes, past and future. However, it can sometimes be difficult to track down those rate changes, especially for people unaccustomed to department of revenue websites. Indeed, businesses required to collect sales tax in multiple tax jurisdictions may be reduced to tears when trying to verify tax rates and check for changes. And when there are no changes, sometimes a person just wants to see that in writing.

Perhaps with beleaguered taxpayers in mind, the Kansas Department of Revenue recently issued an updated local transient guest tax rate table for Q4, 2013. Scanning the Effective Date column reveals that, while there were changes in January 2013, April 2013 and July 2013, no changes took effect in October 2013. That’s good to know.

You don’t have to worry about sales tax rate changes if you switch to an automated solution.
