Time to Renew Your Colorado Sales Tax License
- Oct 25, 2013 | Gail Cole

Sales tax licenses in Colorado are valid for up to two years. All sales tax licenses in Colorado expire at the end of each odd year: 2011, 2013, 2015, and so on. That means it’s time for businesses to renew their Colorado sales tax licenses.
You could wait until the Colorado Department of Revenue mails you a sales tax license renewal letter in November, but you could go ahead and renew now. Why wait for the bottle neck at year end? The department encourages business to renew online using the Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT). This “helps to reduce errors and improve the turnaround time for the taxpayer to receive the license.”
Tips for using EFT are available on the Department of Revenue website under Additional EFT Tips. Advance registration is required before the first payment can be processed. In other words, don’t wait until the last minute to renew.
If online renewal isn’t possible, waiting for the mailed renewal letter to arrive in November is the next best thing.
Switching to an automated sales tax solution saves time and money.
