Minnesota: Sales Tax on Cigarettes to Increase, January 2014

 Cigarettes in Minnesota: the rates are on the rise.

On January 1, 2014, the rate of sales tax per pack of 20 cigarettes in Minnesota will increase. The current rate is 49.3 cents. Effective the first of the year, the rate will be 51.2 cents. This rate must be adjusted proportionally for packs “with other than 20 cigarettes.”

Excise tax for a pack of 20 cigarettes increased to $2.83, effective July 2013.
