Holmes County Florida Discretionary Sales Surtax, Extended

There is a 1% Small County Surtax in Holmes County, Florida, that was scheduled to expire on December 31, 2013. Earlier this fall, the Holmes County Board of County Commissioners extended the surtax through December 31, 2028.

As a result, the combined state and local sales and use tax rate in Holmes County will remain 7% in the new year, and for many years to come.

Paper filers are “not entitled to a collection allowance….” Holmes County taxpayers are encouraged to file electronically through the Florida Department of Revenue website.
