Time to Reconcile Sales Tax in Rhode Island

  • Dec 19, 2013 | Gail Cole

It's almost time to reconcile sales tax in Rhode Island.

The Rhode Island Division of Taxation is reminding retailers that it is almost time to file an annual sales tax reconciliation, due January 31, 2014.

In the past, the Division of Taxation mailed blank sales tax reconciliation forms to retailers. Since a majority of retailers now file electronically, postcard reminders are mailed instead.

New this season

“Restaurants, bars, taverns and pubs will file the regular annual reconciliation, the same as most other retailers.”

Special annual sales tax reconciliation

Package stores and liquor stores, which are Class A licensees, must file a special sales tax reconciliation form, due February 1, 2014.
