Utah: Local Sales Tax Rate Changes, April 2014


 New sales tax rate coming to Helper, Utah.

Several local tax rate changes have been announced by the Utah State Tax Commission. Sales tax Beginning April 1, 2014, the following cities will impose a new botanical, cultural, recreational and zoological organizations or facilities tax:

  • The City of Lindon, Utah County, at a rate of 0.1%; and
  • The City of Helper, Carbon County, at a rate of 0.1%.

Once the new tax is imposed, the combined sales tax rates will be 6.85% in Lindon and 6.05% in Helper. Municipality transient room tax Effective April 1, 2014, South Jordan (Salt Lake County) will impose a 1% municipality transient room tax. The new transient room tax will be 5.75%.
