California Sales Tax Rate Changes, April 2014


 Sales tax rate increase coming to San Anselmo, California, April 2014.

Numerous State Board of Equalization. All of the rates are on the rise.

Effective April 1, 2014:

City of Antioch (Contra Costa County) 8.5% 9.0%
City of Huron (Fresno County) 8.225% 9.225%
Town of Corte Madera (Marin County) 8.5% 9.0%
City of Larkspur (Marin County) 8.5% 9.0%
Town of San Anselmo (Marin County) 8.5% 9.0%
City of San Rafael (Marin County) 9.0% 9.25%
City of Stockton (San Joaquin County) 8.25% 9.0%
City of Scotts Valley (Santa Cruz County) 8.250% 8.750%

In addition, two cities have opted to extend current tax rates that were set to expire on March 31:

  • In the City of El Monte (Los Angeles County), the 9.50% rate is now set to expire on March 31, 2019; and
  • In the City of Rohnert Park (Sonoma County), the 8.75% rate now has no expiration date.
