New transit sales and use tax for Wadena County, April 2014.

The Minnesota Department of Revenue has announced two local sales and use tax rate changes, to take effect April 1, 2014. Both new taxes will be administered by the Minnesota Department of Revenue.

Wadena County will impose a new 0.5% transit sales and use tax. It will apply to all retail sales made within Wadena County that are subject to the Minnesota state sales and use tax.

Beltrami County will also impose a new 0.5% transit sales and use tax, which will apply to all retail sales subject to the state sales tax.

Vehicles registered for road use are not subject to either county’s transit sales and use tax.
