Dates Announced for Texas August Sales Tax Holiday

Dates for the 2014 and 2015 August back-to-school sales tax holiday have been announced by the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts.
In 2014, the back-to-school sales tax holiday will begin at 12:01 a.m. on Friday, August 8 and conclude at12:00 a.m. (midnight) on Sunday, August 10.
In 2015, the tax-free period will begin at 12:01 a.m on Friday, August 7 and conclude at 12:00 a.m. (midnight) on Sunday, August 9.
Clothing, footwear, school backpacks and school supplies costing less than $100 per item are exempt from Texas sales tax during the tax-free period. Additional information is available in the Texas Code §3.365 and at the Texas Window on State Government.
