Idaho: Use Tax Exemption for Food Donations to Nonprofits

Food and beverage donations to Idaho nonprofits are exempt from use tax.

Idaho Governor C.L. “Butch” Otto (R) recently placed his signature on Idaho House Bill 530, which amends existing law to provide a use tax exemption for donations of food and beverages to individuals or nonprofit organizations.

To be eligible for the exemption, nonprofits must currently be registered with the Secretary of State. Read the full text of the bill.

How do you keep track of sales and use tax exemptions? Sales tax automation helps.
