Mississippi: New Sales Tax Exemption for Certain Aircraft


 Aircraft that transports people and products to oil and natural gas rigs are exempt from Mississippi sales tax, effective July 2014.

Effective July 1, 2014, Mississippi will allow an exemption from sales tax for aircraft used predominantly to transport passengers or property to offshore oil or natural gas exploration or production platforms or vessels.

In addition, an exemption from sales tax will be allowed for engines, accessories and spare parts for these aircraft.
