Alabama Sales Tax Filing Changes, June 2014

Update, 5.30.14: Beginning June 1, 2014, the Alabama Department of Revenue will also administer sales and use taxes and other additional taxes for the Town of Lake View.

The Alabama Department of Revenue has published important notices regarding the administration of sales and use taxes in the City of Grove Hill and the Town of Excel.

Governing bodies in both communities have decided to take advantage of “services rendered by the Alabama Department of Revenue in the administration and collection of sales/use taxes and any other additional taxes….” The administrative change for both Grove Hill and Excel takes effect June 1, 2014. The first local tax returns to be filed with the Alabama Department of Revenue are for the tax period ending June 30, 2014, due on or before July 21, 2014.
