Florida Hurricane Preparedness Sales Tax Holiday Starts Tomorrow
- May 30, 2014 | Gail Cole

Florida's sales tax holiday for hurricane preparedness supplies begins at 12:01 a.m. on May 31, 2014--just past the stroke of midnight, tonight.
The tax-free period lasts until 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, June 8. That gives Floridians more than a week to stock up on supplies ranging from batteries and visqueen to coolers and generators.
The Florida Department of Revenue provides a complete list of exempt items on its website, along with tips on how to handle coupons, layaway sales, and returns.
