Maine to Streamline Audit Process

Maine Revenue Services is disbanding its Audit Division, effective September 1, 2014. But don’t think that means there will be no more audits in Maine.

Sales and use tax audits will be overseen by the Sales, Fuel and Special Tax Division of Maine Revenue Services. This reorganization is expected to “produce administrative efficiencies and provide better taxpayer service.”
