Georgia: State Sales Tax on Fuel Now Frozen
- Apr 20, 2015 | Gail Cole

In order to stabilize the rate of taxation on motor fuels and aviation gasoline in Georgia, the General Assembly of Georgia and Governor Nathan Deal have enacted HB 319, which freezes prepaid state taxes on motor fuel and aviation gasoline at the rate levied as of June 1, 2014. The suspension will conclude on December 31, 2015. The legislation does not freeze local prepaid sales taxes on fuel.
This is not the first time Gov. Deal has frozen the state sales tax on fuel.
