Alabama Tax Reporting Changes, June 2015

  • May 20, 2015 | Gail Cole

Two Alabama towns to take over tax administration from the Department of Revenue.

Two towns in Alabama will make tax administrative changes, effective June 1, 2015.

The Town of New Site will begin administering its own sales and use tax. The period ending May 31, 2015, is the last reporting period that taxpayers will file sales and use tax with the Alabama Department of Revenue.

Likewise, the Town of Summerdale will take over the administration and collection of lodgings tax. Therefore, the last return to be filed with the Alabama Department of Revenue is for the period ending May 31, 2015.

It’s a hassle to file and remit taxes to multiple jurisdictions. Implementing an automated solution makes it simpler. Learn how it works.
