Arizona Tax Rate Changes, July 2015


 Local rate changes take effect in Arizona on July 1, 2015.

Numerous local tax rate changes take effect in Arizona on July 1, 2015.

After revoking Model Option 6 of the Model City Tax Code, the City of Buckeye will levy a new 3% hotel/motel additional tax.

A new jail tax in Graham County increases the combined transaction privilege tax (TPT) rate for most transactions to 6.6%, effective July 1, 2015.

Also effective July 1, the Town of Marana is increasing the TPT rate from 2% to 2.5% for the following business classifications:

  • Amusement
  • Commercial rental, leasing and licensing for use of real property
  • Job printing
  • Manufactured buildings
  • MRRA
  • Purchases
  • Rental occupancy
  • Rental, leasing and licensing for use of tangible personal property
  • Restaurant and bars
  • Retail sales
  • Timbering and other extraction
  • Transporting for hire
  • Use tax
  • Use tax: inventory

The tax rate in Marana will increase from 4% to 4.5% for the following business classifications:

  • Telecommunications
  • Utility

Rates for the following business classifications in Marana will remain unchanged (listed with current rates):

  • Construction contracting (4%)
  • Hotel (6%)
  • Mining – metal (0.10%)
  • Owner-builders (4%)
  • Speculative builders (4%)
