Numerous local tax rate changes take effect in Arizona on July 1, 2015.
After revoking Model Option 6 of the Model City Tax Code, the City of Buckeye will levy a new 3% hotel/motel additional tax.
A new jail tax in Graham County increases the combined transaction privilege tax (TPT) rate for most transactions to 6.6%, effective July 1, 2015.
Also effective July 1, the Town of Marana is increasing the TPT rate from 2% to 2.5% for the following business classifications:
- Commercial rental, leasing and licensing for use of real property
- Job printing
- Manufactured buildings
- Rental occupancy
- Rental, leasing and licensing for use of tangible personal property
- Restaurant and bars
- Retail sales
- Timbering and other extraction
- Transporting for hire
- Use tax
- Use tax: inventory
The tax rate in Marana will increase from 4% to 4.5% for the following business classifications:
Rates for the following business classifications in Marana will remain unchanged (listed with current rates):
- Construction contracting (4%)
- Hotel (6%)
- Mining – metal (0.10%)
- Owner-builders (4%)
- Speculative builders (4%)
