Louisiana Parish Adds Sales Tax Exclusion

There is a new sales tax exclusion in Calcasieu Parish, Louisiana, home to Lake Charles Regional Airport.

Effective May 22, 2015, existing law is amended to create an exclusion from the sales and use tax levied by the tax authorities in Calcasieu Parish for “charges for the furnishing of repairs to aircraft, … provided that the repairs are performed at an airport with a runway that is at least ten thousand feet long, one hundred sixty feet wide, and fourteen inches thick.” Further details are available in the text of House Bill 665.
