North Carolina Fuel Tax Rates

 Fuel tax rates are down in North Carolina.

Fuel tax rates in North Carolina have decreased from 37.5 cents per gallon to 36 cents per gallon for the period April 1, 2015 through December 31, 2015.

The rate of 36 cents per gallon should be used for the following reports:

  • Alternative fuels
  • Diesel
  • Gasoline

Consumers pay the state motor fuels tax at the pump, as it is included in the retail price.
