Utah Fuel Tax Rate Change, July 2015

The gas tax is scheduled to increase in Utah, effective January 1, 2016. Prior to that date, additional fuel tax rate increases will take effect in Utah. All must be reported on Utah’s Motor Fuel Tax Return (TC-109).
Effective July 1, 2015:
- Compressed Natural Gas (CNG): up from 8.5 cents to 10.5% per gasoline gallon.
- Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG): up from 8.5 cents to 10.5 cents per gasoline gallon.
- Hydrogen to power motor vehicles: new tax of 10.5 cents per CGE.
In addition, fuel tax rate decals will no longer be required to be posted to fuel pumps. Additional information.
