Idaho Fuel Tax Rate Change, July 2015


 Keep fuel tax rates current.

Motor fuel tax rates in Idaho will increase from 25 cents per gallon to 32 cents per gallon due to the enactment of House Bill 312. The rate change takes effect July 1, 2015.

This tax does not apply to the following, as they are defined by applicable Idaho law:

  • Special fuels dyed at a refinery or terminal.
  • Special fuel dispensed into a motor vehicle which uses gaseous special fuels and which displays a valid gaseous special fuels permit.
  • Special fuels that are gaseous special fuels as defined by Idaho law.
  • Aircraft engine fuel.
