Kansas Transient Guest Tax Rate Changes, July 2015

Kansas announces transient guest tax rate changes.

Transient guest tax reporting is complicated, so the Kansas Department of Revenue is working to simplify it. Nonetheless, businesses still need to account for periodic lodging tax rate changes.

Effective July 1, 2015:

  • Garnett increased transient guest tax by 1%, to 6%.
  • Jackson County increased transient guest tax by 2%, to 5%
  • South Hutchinson increased transient guest tax by 2%, to 7%.
