Vermont Tax Rate Changes, October 2015

Twelve localities in Vermont currently impose a local sales tax of 1% in addition to the state sales tax rate of 6%. This fall, that number will increase to thirteen.

Colchester, which is just north of Burlington and home to the second largest population in the state, will impose both a 1% local option sales tax and a 1% local option rooms tax, effective October 1, 2015. Additional information.
