Tax Amnesty, Fall 2015
- Sep 8, 2015 | Gail Cole

Louisiana and South Carolina are expected to have tax amnesty programs some time this fall. Details will be forthcoming.
Louisiana
Louisiana Tax Amnesty is based on 2013 legislation, House Bill 456, which calls for an amnesty period “for a period of at least one month in 2015, occurring between July 1, 2015, and December 31, 2015.” The program applies to “all taxes administered by the department except for motor fuel taxes and penalties for failure to submit information reports that are not based on an underpayment of tax.” The Louisiana Department of Revenue has confirmed that it will launch this fall but has yet to release dates or additional details.
South Carolina
Under South Carolina Senate Bill 526, the Department of Revenue “must notify the General Assembly of the amnesty period at least sixty days before the commencement of the amnesty period.” The Department of Revenue has yet to announce dates. Additional information.
